Horse racing is a thrilling spectator sport and a fascinating intellectual challenge. That is how Prakash Gosavi has always approached it, and how we hope you will too.
But racing has another side. When emotions take over, the pleasure of the sport can turn into a gambling habit that is hard to control.
Warning signs
- Betting more than you can afford to lose
- Chasing losses, betting more to “win it back”
- Borrowing money, or using money meant for the family, to bet
- Hiding your betting from family or friends
- Feeling restless, irritable or low when you are not betting
